Tarlow Breed Hart & Rodgers Attorneys Dara Lynn Freytag and Melissa Sydney were presenters at the Boston Bar Association’s Trusts & Estates Section “Year in Review” seminar on June 22, 2018. Attorney Freytag covered new developments in the field, and Attorney Sydney reviewed the current state of public policy in regards to trusts and estates.

Topics covered included recent federal and state case law, legislation and tax law matters, as well as currently pending trusts and estates related bills before the Massachusetts Legislature, including the Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act and updates on the recently formed “Decanting Committee.” In addition, the speakers reviewed recent Massachusetts cases covering guardianship, probate and trust issues. The seminar concluded with a roundtable discussion on how attorneys are responding to the new tax changes with clients.
