SBANE Honors Ed Tarlow with 2007 Community Service Award

Boston, Mass. - The Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) awarded Ed Tarlow its 2007 Community Service Award at it recent Profitable Connections Leadership Awards program.  Tarlow, a founder of the Boston law firm of Tarlow, Breed, Hart & Rodgers, P.C., has represented family businesses across New England for more than 30 years.  He is the President of the Family Firm Institute’s New England Chapter and this year co-founded Massachusetts' first ever statewide awards program honoring family businesses.

"SBANE's goal is to promote and protect small businesses throughout New England and it is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization," said Tarlow.  "I look forward to continuing to work with SBANE and with local family businesses and sincerely thank them for this important recognition."

As a senior member of Tarlow, Breed, Hart & Rodgers, P.C., Tarlow has played a key role in increasing its expertise in the areas of taxation, business law and estate planning, areas of paramount importance to family-owned businesses.  Tarlow is a also a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises, the Society for Trust and Estate Planners, Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Family Firm Institute.  The Boston Estate Planning Council named Tarlow the Boston Estate Planner of the Year in 2003.

The Profitable Connections Leadership Awards underscore SBANE's operating philosophy to make a tangible difference in a small business person's outcome and success.
