Robert J. Kerwin

Rob Kerwin is a senior member of Tarlow, Breed, Hart & Rodgers, with a multi-dimensional business law practice ranging from medical equipment to business litigation.  Rob’s distinguished career spans nearly three decades and involves high-stakes issues in a variety of forums.  Since 2004 Rob has been continuously recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.

Rob serves as the general counsel to an international medical equipment organization where, for seventeen years he has advised on numerous matters relating to domestic and international companies in resolving contract and trade disputes.

After his early years associated with a Texas trial firm, Rob returned to Boston and practiced in the corporate bankruptcy department of a large law firm.  Rob continues a creditors’ rights practice today, representing financial institutions and municipalities in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts.

Recent representative matters include:  a successful jury trial counsel in a Massachusetts state court medical equipment case, special counsel to the City of Boston on electronic data recovery issues, mediation of a multimillion dollar construction claim and fair lending counsel in connection with a governmental investigation of a financial institution.

Rob has been recognized by the International Municipal Lawyers Association as an IMLA Fellow.  A past president of the City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association of Massachusetts, Rob serves on the CSTCA Executive Board and as faculty member for various Massachusetts Collectors and Treasurers Association educational programs.

A former co-chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association Business Law Section Council, Rob served on the MBA Governance Committee, MBA House of Delegates and the Joint Bar Committee on Judicial Appointments.  Rob also served as a faculty member of the MBA In-House Counsel Program for the past seven years.  He currently serves on the MBA Access to Justice Committee.
